Congratulations on the artistic section, it looks impressive!
I like it a lot and it seems very professional to me how the opening of the game is made and the transition when you hit the Start button. By the way I think the Start button is always "selected" because it doesn't change the animation.
Within the gameplay, it seems to me that the clouds are very well achieved, although sometimes a certain popping is noticeable.
When the two towers spawn, I would make them much slower for two reasons:
- The player may not be looking at the moment
- It takes a long time to arrive.
Being an experimental game you could test the idea that the towers appear as the player gets closer, that is, interpolate the height of the towers with the distance from the player.
This was absolutely gorgeous! I loved the story elements as well as the cheeky meta flavor to some of the observations. The first apparition really left an impression on me.
At first I didn't think this game would have a story to it. I just thought it was a very basic walking sim but I am so glad I checked it out. This game was beautiful and mysterious and was one of my favorite simple ones. Can't wait for more work by you.
I searched his name on wikipedia. He is actual poet of Dante's divine comedy. I am gladly I was going into my curiosity for historical literature. Great work, developer!
This is very stunning. It even made me feel "religious" in a certain way. The feeling of roaming life after death on a plain of sadness and lost hope, is just phenomenal in this short experience. Wonderful.
Lovely game, very bleak and apocalyptic. Felt fatigued walking through it as if I were really there. Enjoyed the trees and the vision of the towers. I'm not sure if there are other endings but I ended up killing myself and might have been happy about that. Regardless, great experience, thanks for creating :)
I found a black swirling orb off in the distance and listened to what it said. Very cool! I hope other people take the time to wander around the wasteland to find other points of interest and share them here! I walked in a straight line for quite some time but didn't see any noticeable seams or found an end. Great Stuff! What technique did you use to do that?
oh what! i've gotta look for that next time i play seems like the direction you go in determines the events and stuff you come across, that's really fun personally all i managed to find was an ending (who knows maybe there are more lmao). mostly headed in the direction of the dark clouds which might be how you get that will definitely share any discoveries i manage to make, happy wandering!
I walked towards the dark clouds for my first playthrough. For my second I turned right from the starting point and kept walking to find the orb. I just did another play through where I walked towards the light clouds, I kept walking backwards till the towers disappeared then I went back to them and got the same ending except that I got to the penultimate line of dialogue then started to walk away towards the black orb. I didn't make it in time, I guess, because --SPOILER-- the character attempted to decapitate themselves on the now distant sword again. --SPOILER END-- This had the effect of letting the camera clip through the ground and I could see where the ground was no longer being generated. It's just the one test but I got the same ending. Still fun though!

this was a wonderfully haunting experience; I felt I could've walked around in that place for hours, staring into the sky.

Monument to Dante in Trento Italy
What an interesting concept, the atmosphere and the style really appeal to me. Can we expect more?
Really awesome!
how is this not on top of itch io?
it's in top-100 if you sort by popularity
Interesting idea, a couple of little things - if the main character has no body, then why do we hear his footsteps or see his head shaking?

The graphics are just phenomenal, I've never seen such a mesmerizing sky in a video game. Well done

amazing game, amazing ambience and artstyle reminds a little of Dzislav Beksinski's paintings.
I really enjoyed the monumental experience, It was short; simple-yet effective. Well done Akira, you've made yet another gem.
This game is deep man ->
Lovely little game, was a pleasure to play it. Very interesting style and story, and the music fit the tone quite nicely. Very good job once again!
